Two developers in Kisumu, building for real businesses

We kept meeting business owners who worked incredibly hard but could not answer simple questions: what did we sell today, what is left in stock, who owes us, and where did the money go. The answers were in exercise books, in M-Pesa messages, and in people’s heads.

So we built ShopOS for a pub and restaurant in Kisumu, and watched it change how the owner works. Since then we have built systems for a lounge, an emergency response platform, a staffing agency, a fashion store, an author and a youth conference: 8 projects so far.

Every project taught us the same thing. Good software for businesses here must take M-Pesa, survive a weak connection, run on an ordinary phone, and be simple enough to learn in an afternoon. That is what we build.
